Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The meme was originally the brainchild of The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books.
Books on my wish list
I put very few books on my wish list this year, and only a few hardcovers. As my shelves have become more full, I have become more cautious about adding new books to them, preferring to read the book before making that decision. But there are a few books I would truly love to find under the tree.
- The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
- Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynn Jones (Folio Society edition)
- The Art of Winnie the Pooh by James Campbell, with illustrations by E. H. Shepard
- Any of the Puffin in Bloom editions except Little Women, which I already own. (A Little Princess, Anne of Green Gables, Heidi)

Now I want to check out The Art of Winnie the Pooh, too.

It’s both a collection of the art from the books, plus sketches, and the story of how Shepard and Milne worked together to weave the illustrations into the books. I can’t wait to read it — and my wonderful husband gave it to me for Christmas! 🙂

Nice list! I hope you get and enjoy The Starless Sea — I’ve started reading it, and it’s great so far! (It’s a slow burner, but I’m really enjoying it.)

Thank you! I didn’t get The Starless Sea (yet — we’re having “Second Christmas” with my sister’s family today, so we’ll see), but my wonderful husband did get me The Art of Winnie the Pooh, which I can’t wait to start.

The Art of Winnie the Pooh sounds really neat, too!

The covers from Puffin are just beautiful. And I hadn’t heard of The Art of Winnie the Pooh – I need to check that out.

My wonderful husband gave me The Art of Winnie the Pooh… but it hasn’t actually arrived yet. I can’t wait to read it!

Those Puffin in Bloom editions have such gorgeous covers! I bought myself a copy of Anne of Green Gables that’s a B&N special edition and it’s quite lovely.

Oh, what a lovely gift for yourself! That’s one of my favorite books ever.
