WIP Wednesday (for “Work In Progress”) is a meme where we share our current fibery projects. It was started by Nicole @ Book-Wyrm-Knits, who also reviews books at book-wyrm-reads.
It’s been almost a month since I posted a WIP Wednesday, so I’ll try to catch up a bit.
Spinning
Here are the finished skeins of Bambino “Hickory Dickory” yarn: 2 skeins of 2-ply, and a mini-skein that I chain-plied using the yardage left over on one bobbin. Below that are the finished skeins of another fiber I bought from Paradise Fibers, their Constellation fiber in the “Libra” colorway. I finished it as a 2-ply. It’s the most even yarn I’ve spun yet; I’m really pleased with it.
Knitting
I’ve made some progress on my Hermione’s Not-So-Everyday Socks. The pattern is a modification of Hermione’s Everyday Socks (pattern by Erica Lueder); I added a slipped stitch to break up some of the pooling that occurred last time I tried knitting socks with this yarn. (KnitPicks Stroll Multi in the Paisley colorway.) Sorry about the photo quality on this picture and the cowl below; I didn’t have very good light or background available when I took them.
I started a cowl with the first yarn I ever spun, a merino wool in a soft turquoise or aqua color. The yarn is wildly uneven in thickness, so I’m going to knit the top and bottom edges in moss stitch (so they don’t curl) and the rest in stockinette, letting the texture of the yarn itself shine through.
I’ve also made progress on my secret project, the one I can’t show you because it’s a gift. I’m about 35% done with it.
Do you knit, spin, crochet, or do other arts or craftwork? Tell me about your latest project!

I once tried to cross stitch, but I found I can’t do it in the summer without sweating excessively. ? In the winter I’m too busy trying to keep warm. ? Perhaps one day in the future I can take up cross stitching again.

I’ve never tried cross-stitch, but one of my college friends is terrific at it. His pieces are beautiful. (He knits, too.) I hope you can get back to it some day.

Thank you, Anne! I’m getting hooked on spinning. 🙂
