The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

This week I’m also participating in The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz, and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality.
The Past Week
In real life: The contractors were here Monday and Tuesday. We got Mr. Bookwyrm’s office cleared out in time for them to paint it. They also started on the electrical work, changing out light fixtures, switches, and electrical outlets (from beige to white.) But they haven’t been here since Tuesday. They’ll be back next week.
I’m still cataloging my books, but I have also started covering book jackets in clear plastic protectors now that my supplies have arrived. I plan to do the signed books first, (if they have jackets), then any vintage dust jackets in fragile condition, and finally my most-prized first editions and illustrated children’s books. I won’t do all the book jackets now because I don’t have time before I need to pack the books. I set up a station in my study/office/library to work on them. I’ve done 25 book jacket protectors so far, and hope to get 5-10 more done per day.

We are also continuing to sort, prune, and pack up our other things as we have time.
4 Good Things:
- We got some gentle, much-needed rain on Wednesday and Thursday.
- Mr. Bookwyrm brought me lovely roses for Mother’s Day.
- Book jacket covers are easier to do than I thought they would be. There’s a knack, but it didn’t take me long to figure it out.
- I ordered the Owlcrate exclusive edition of Enchanting the Fae Queen, to go with my first book in the series.

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching

Reading: I finished Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel, the new Miss Marple mystery by Lucy Foley (ARC), which was surprisingly good. Then I read Unknown Depths by Celia Lake; it arrived on May 1 and I’ve been eager to read it. After that, I started rereading Lost and Found by Jayne Ann Krentz (reviewed in 2016.) I’m still reading This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me (Ilona Andrews) on both Kindle and audiobook (alternately.)
Listening to: I finished Smoke in Mirrors by Jayne Ann Krentz (book reviewed in 2017; review revised and reposted this week.) Then I listened to Beyond by Mercedes Lackey (book reviewed in 2021), and went on to start the sequel, Into the West. I’m also still listening to This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me, as I mentioned above.
Watching: The Brokenwood Mysteries, Season 12, Episode 4; The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert.
