Sunday Post – 10/04/15

October 4, 2015 Sunday Post 13

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures – I mean books!

My Week

I did better with posts this week – until the end of the week, when I got absolutely slammed with indexing work. Yesterday I put in literally 11 hours of solid work time. This evening won’t be much better, but there’s church in the morning and the first rehearsal of my choruses this afternoon, which is always a lot of fun!

I did get to see last week’s eclipse – until just after totality, when the clouds rolled back in and obscured everything. But I got a few really good photos of the partial phase, including this one:

Because I was so slammed yesterday, today’s post is going to be shorter than usual. I’m leaving out the book haul – I bought a lot of Kindle books but I don’t have time to find covers and link them all, so I’ll put them in next week’s Sunday Post.

What I’m Reading/Watching

I plowed through the rest of Tamora Pierce’s Protector of the Small quartet, and now I’m listening to her Wild Magic (again.)  I also read A Thousand Nights by E. K. Johnston (see review link above).  I’ve started Spinning Starlight by R. C. Lewis, and I need to get back to Forever Your Earl (Eva Leigh) and Move Your Blooming Corpse (D. E. Ireland).  And I’m still listening to The Night Circus (Erin Morgenstern, read by Jim Dale), but it’s on hold until I finish Wild Magic.

I’ve been a bit busy, so not much TV this week. I watched a few more DS9 episodes this week, plus one Avatar: The Last Airbender.  We’re in season 5 of the former, and season 1 of the latter.

New Additions to the Hoard

I’ll put a list together next week, when hopefully I have a little more time!

Have a great week, everybody, and happy reading!

Wow 11 hours in one day, that’s a lot of work. I hope today is better.

Great picture form the moon elipse, we unfortunately missed it. I did see the moon right before that, but then it moved behind our house and we couldn’t see it, once I woke up later the night it was alreayd almost back to normal. Better luck next time.

I hope this week is less busy! Have a good week!

Beautiful moon! I don’t have a good camera anymore and my camera phone was a big fail! due to hazy skies and no telephoto lens. I love to snap random moon shots and I enjoyed studying yours.
I was looking for News and Notes and when it didn’t appear I realized you must be swamped with indexing then. Hope this week goes better and that your chorus rehearsal went smoothly.

I saw Kimba mentioned Once Upon A Time. My younger daughter and I watched the first 2 seasons together and it was a nice bonding time. I like that actress with the dark pixie haircut– very good casting. I lost track of it after that but maybe we will go back and watch more…have you seen that show?

Sorry to hear you’ve been busy? Though I guess it’s a good thing in terms of income etc…

That moon photo is gorgeous – amazing pic!

The weeks are getting rougher and rougher it seems. We’ve been on the go with kiddo’s stuff and to the vet for one of the dogs. Crazy all that you fit into a week. Hope you have a great week and not so crazy. 🙂 Enjoy your reads!
