I’m joining the Cruising thru the Cozies Reading Challenge sponsored by Yvonne at Socrates’ Book Reviews. I’ve decided to challenge myself to reach the Super Sleuth level, which means I need to read 13 or more cozy mysteries by the end of the year.
I really like cozies, so I was a little surprised to realize how few I’ve read so far this year:
- Gone West (Daisy Dalrymple #20) by Carola Dunn
- The Twelve Clues of Christmas (Her Royal Spyness #6) by Rhys Bowen
- The Library Lovers mystery series #1-3 by Jenn McKinlay (I combined the first three books into a single review, but I suppose they count as three separate books for the challenge.)
- Valley of the Shadow, by Carola Dunn. I’m counting this as a cozy, even though the amateur sleuth’s niece, a secondary POV character, is a policewoman, because it fits most of the other criteria of a cozy mystery.
That’s a total of six, and we’re almost half-way through the year. I need to get busy! I’ve read a few other mysteries this spring, but I’m not sure if they fit the “cozy” subgenre as defined for the challenge. Luckily, I have plenty of other cozies on my TBR list!

I’m doing this one too and I’ll be at goal when I finish the book I’m reading; then I’ll need to choose a new goal.
Good luck!
