The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures – I mean books!
My Week
I turned in my indexing project on Tuesday, and immediately took a few days off to recover from the combination of travel, emotion, and work. I’ve been getting my ducks in a row for my choruses, which start up on March 6, unpacking, working on the clutter, and wallowing in re-reading because I just didn’t have the energy to read anything new. But I’m starting to feel a little more energized now, and I’m looking forward to getting a lot done next week. I’m especially excited for Robin’s arrival Friday night for her spring break. Can’t wait to see her!

What I’m Reading/Watching
I’m still finishing Cathy Ace’s The Case of the Missing Morris Dancer and A Deadly Tail by Dixie Lyle. I finished re-reading Jayne Castle’s (Jayne Ann Krentz’s) Ghost Hunters series and the entire Arcane Society series. (I pretty much binge-read them.) And I’ve watched a few more Poirot episodes.

The Penderwicks is charming; it’s mostly for Robin, but it’s a family favorite. Mary Poppins was a childhood favorite. The other three are new to me.
Have a wonderful week, and happy reading!

Awwww… Mary Poppins. I’ve been seeing reports of them remaking the movie. I’m not sure I want them to as it’s such a classic.
Some great new books there though!
Hope you enjoy Robin’s visit.

Actually, they’re not remaking it as much as making a sequel. It’s set 20 years later, during the Depression (which doesn’t fit the original books, so I’m curious to see how they manage that part.) And it’s going to use some of the stories and vignettes that didn’t make it into the original movie. Or so I’ve read…

Yay for Mary Popppins I have never read the book but enjoyed the movie. Have a great upcoming spring break.

I enjoy them both despite the differences between them!

I’m glad you were able to take a few days off to regroup, Lark. It’s a necessity at times 🙂
I hope you’ll enjoy your new books, I don’t think I’ve read Mary Poppins, even if I know the story quite well.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

It really is. I’m not sure I’m over the regrouping stage yet, at least when it comes to what I want to read, but I’ll have to pull myself together and get some of my ARCs read before the books come out!

Is it bad I never realised Mary Poppins was a book…that’s terrible of me I know! Have a great week and happy reading!

In America, at least, the Disney movie has been far more popular than the books, so don’t feel bad. 😉

I loved Whiskey Beach…and I’m realizing that I’ve never read Mary Poppins! Loved the movie, though. Thanks for sharing…and enjoy your week. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

If you like classic British children’s books, it’s definitely worth a read. Of course Disney made some changes (and glamorized Mary Poppins) but it’s still fun.
Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library
I really enjoyed your Whiskey Beach review and have moved my copy into the short stack of books to read. I’m looking forward to reading more Nora soon. The Castle/Krentz Ghost Hunter series sounds fun too. I’ll definitely have to check those out. Yay for Robin coming home! I hope you have a fantastic visit and a great week!

Oh, I’m glad you’re going to read it. I know you like Nora Roberts. Castle’s Ghost Hunters books are way out there (and don’t have “real” ghosts) but they are a lot of fun despite a few worldbuilding issues. I especially like the dust bunnies — cute little predators that look like a ball of dryer lint and have the curiosity of a cat, the loyalty of a dog, and behave more like raccoons (they like toys and bling and can get in and out of pretty much anything.)

*HUGS* I hope things settle down for you! Taking some time for you always helps.
I hope you enjoy all your new books, Mary Poppins cover is adorable would love a poster or framed picture of that for my wall. lol
Have a great week, Lark! Happy Reading! ox

It’s a cute little cover, isn’t it? I also just ordered myself a used copy of the hardcover 80th-anniversary complete Mary Poppins. I don’t think I’ve read all of the books yet, just two or three that one of my childhood libraries had.
Rita @ View From My Home
Enjoy Robin’s visit home! Glad you had a few days to decompress 🙂
I enjoy the occasional N Roberts so will look for Whiskey Beach. I’m sure I skimmed over that title at my library last week, oops.
I am also awaiting What We Find by R Carr. It will be fun to read a brand new series by her.

I’m awfully late answering this, but we had a great visit with Robin, and I seem to be off my reading slump and enjoying new books again. Thanks for stopping by!

It’s always nice to finish a project and have a few days off! I really enjoyed Whiskey Beach; I hope you get a chance to read it.
