It’s my 7th Blogoversary!
Can you believe it?! The Bookwyrm’s Hoard is seven years old today. Seven! How can it possibly be that long? I’ve learned so much and made so many blogging friends, yet sometimes I feel as though I’m still finding my way.
When I started the blog on July 6, 2009, I wanted a place where I could talk about the books and authors I love. Back then, ebooks were still a relatively new thing, and I wasn’t sure how I felt about them, so I did a lot of reading and thinking and blogging about ebooks and publishing as well as about the books I was reading, or had loved for years.
I also had no idea how blogging would change my life—or how much time and energy it can consume! But it’s been totally worth it. I’ve discovered so many wonderful books and authors that I’d never read before, thanks to your recommendations and the online temptations offered by NetGalley and Edelweiss. I’ve become more computer-literate as I figured out how to use first the Blogger platform, then WordPress. I branched out into social media: Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, and Pinterest. I did jump into ebooks, and discovered that I love them—though I don’t plan to give up print books any time soon! And best of all, I’ve made some terrific blogging friends who love books as much as I do.
To thank you all for sharing this journey with me, I’m celebrating my 7th year with seven giveaways, to be unveiled during the coming month. I’ve got historical romances, mysteries, and fantasy novels to bestow on the lucky winners. The physical giveaways are just for U.S. readers (I’m sorry!), but I promise there will be some Kindle books as well. The first giveaway is below; the others will follow beginning next week.
Giveaway #1: When a Scot Ties the Knot
When a Scot Ties the Knot is Tessa Dare at her best, and I’ve got 3 copies to give away! The book “mixes humor and tenderness in equal measure and adds a pair of characters who are far more right for each other than either of them could have guessed.” If you want to know more, check out my review.
Rita @ View From My Books
I read one book by Tessa Dare, and after I got over the somewhat humorous sensual scenes I enjoyed her style. I actually have this on my wishlist on Goodreads already, so I definitely want to enter. It sounds like a fun, lovely read according to your thoughts.
By the way Lark, I have enjoyed your blog for years! I used to just lurk for a couple of years, then I started commenting and reading in earnest a few years ago as My Home of Books & View From My Home. I may reinvent myself as needed, but I stay loyal to my favorite bloggers 🙂

Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library
Happy blogoversary! 7 years is seriously impressive. You have definitely tempted me to expand my reading and pick up more fantasy books. I have several Lackey books on my wishlist because I know how fond you are of her and you talked me into picking up Laurie R. King after so long. Happy 7 years my friend!

Congratulations on your 7th Blogoversary! Always enjoy your posts and appreciate the thoughtful reviews and all the other information you have for us there. It has to be so much work to keep the blog going, but for readers it is invaluable. The so many books, so little time thing, helps to have good info to decide what to read next.

Happy 7 years of blogging. This Tessa Dare book was my first!
Lark_Bookwyrm
It wasn’t my first, but it was the one that took her from “I like her books” to “must-read romance author.” 🙂

Thank you, Berls! I don’t see myself quitting blogging anytime soon! But life changes, and I don’t necessarily see myself still blogging in 10 years. We’ll see where it goes. 🙂 I loved this book, too!
