The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
My Week
I am scarily behind in my work due to circumstances beyond my control (well, mostly.) I will be working around the clock today (except when I’m rehearsing) and all this coming week. I’ll barely have time to sleep, let alone get any posts done in the coming week, so I’m officially taking a week off from the blog. If I can, I’ll be back next Sunday; if not, expect to see me sometime after Oct. 17.

Challenges
The Blog Ahead Challenge runs through the end of October. My goal is to get 15 posts “ahead” by then. So far, I’ve done 2 posts. Not bad, considering how busy I’ve been, but I won’t get any more done until later in the month.
What I’m Reading/Watching
I haven’t had a lot of time for reading this week. I did read A Kiss in the Snow, a Fool’s Gold novella by Susan Mallery (purchased); it’s really more of a long short story, so it didn’t take very long. I’m still reading A Terrible Beauty by Tasha Alexander (ARC), and I started The Hammer of Thor (Rick Riordan; purchased.) I’ve been rereading A Discovery of Witches for the Real-Time Read-Along. And I still need to get back to Shades of Milk and Honey, the first in the Glamourist Histories by Mary Robinette Kowal (purchased.)
I’m still listening to Made in America by Bill Bryson. Or rather, I’m not, since I haven’t had time to. We did watch The Clocks, Elephants Can Remember, and The Big Four (the Poirot mysteries starring David Suchet) before the work crashed down upon my head. We haven’t returned to The Shannara Chronicles yet, but maybe after I get through all this work! Avatar: The Last Airbender is currently on hold, too.

For Review or Review Consideration
Many thanks to Roc.
Purchased for Kindle
The Riordan and March books were pre-ordered. Aunt Dimity’s Death is one of my comfort books, and it finally went on sale for Kindle. And how could I resist a book of tea and cookie recipes? Finally, these Kurtz books went on sale, so I was able to complete both these trilogies (The Legends of Camber of Culdi, and The Heirs of St. Camber.)
Berls
Good luck with work! I hate feeling behind, it just makes everything else crazy too. Hopefully the break will help. And have fun with your choir 🙂

Michelle @Because Reading
A kiss in the snow looks really cute. I think I am in a christmas reading mood but I am trying so hard to hold off until at least November. 🙂
I hope you are able to get ahead this week. Sometimes a nice break is always helpful to refresh! Enjoy it!
Have a great week, Lark! Happy Reading! ox

I kind of had to get that one in; I was on the review crew. 😉 I’d like to save some of my Christmas books for November, though. Thanks for the good wishes; I wish this week was going to be a break, but it’s going to be madness.
Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library
Good luck getting through the work craziness! Sounds like it’s going to be madness for a bit but hopefully you’ll be able to get a good break in once you’re through. I watched The Big Four recently and enjoyed it. It’s not my favorite book but it’s still good and I enjoyed the Suchet version quite a bit. Have a great week!

Indeed it is (going to be madness, that is.)
It’s been a long time since I read The Big Four, so I couldn’t quite tell… but it seemed to me that both it and The Clocks deviated from the book more than the early Poirot shows used to do. Not that they weren’t good — they were — but one of the things I like about the series is that it’s generally pretty faithful to the source material.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
Laurel-Rain Snow
I hope you catch up and return soon! I love the look of your Emily March book. I’ve never read her, so this might be a place to start.
Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

Thank you, Laurel-Rain! This one is fun, but if you’re going to read March, I recommend starting with either Angel’s Rest or Hummingbird Lake. The latter was where I started, but if you like starting at the beginning of a series, go with Angel’s Rest. And have a great week!

Oh wow…good luck my friend. It looks like you will have plenty to read after the crash and burn 🙂

Good luck with work! Hope it goes well and your stress isn’t too bad. 🙂 I love that cover of the Burning Page, and I still need to read the second book. I need to get to the Magnus Chase books too…

I still need to read the second Invisible Library book, too. And I’m not making much progress in the new Magnus Chase because work. 🙁 Thanks for the good wishes; I’ll try to keep the stress levels down. I hope you have a terrific week!

Oh, I hope so! Thank you. 🙂
Tiffany @ I Was Angelized_1st
Good luck with rehearsals! A Discovery of Witches was really good. I can’t wait to read the new Rick Riordan. The first book was pretty fun. Have a great week!

Thank you, Tiffany! I’m enjoying revisiting A Discovery of Witches, but it’s hard to stick to the read-along timeline; I keep wanting to race ahead.
Charlie @ Girl of 1000 Wonders
I feel like that every day. I have too much on my plate this year. I hope you can quickly get through your work load this week and take a breather and back to normal next.

Thank you, Charlie! I hope your workload eases up some, too — or at least that you get a vacation sometime soon!
