The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

This week I’m also participating in The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz, and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality.
The Past Week
In real life: Mr. Bookwyrm wanted French toast for brunch on Sunday, and crabcakes for dinner. Those are both his specialties, so he ended up cooking! Everything was delicious. Monday, I had a yearly appointment with my thyroid specialist. I got to town, only to find the roads were all (all!) at a standstill, or very nearly. I called the office from my car, and learned that there was a power line down on I-95, which meant that everyone and their brother was trying to route around the stoppage. The office said it was affecting all their patients, and to come in anyway; they fit me in pretty quickly once I actually got there.
I have been exhausted since getting back from Texas. Monday evening I started running a low-grade fever, with headache and body aches. I went to urgent care on Thursday; they ruled out Covid, flu, and strep. We’re still waiting on the results of bloodwork. (The lab was closed Thursday for Juneteenth; I couldn’t get blood drawn until Friday afternoon.) And I’m still sick. Tylenol reduces the fever and aches to manageable levels, but I have zero energy, so I’m just reading and sleeping. Well, rereading; I’m not sure I have the attention span for anything new at the moment.
2 Good Things (because I’m too wiped out to think of more, and the news is relentlessly awful):
- I’m glad we have excellent health insurance.
- Mr. Bookwyrm has been taking excellent care of me.

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching

Reading: I finished rereading Upon a Summer’s Day, by Celia Lake, followed by the extra novella The Changing Door. Then I reread Illusion of a Boar, followed by Three Graces, the extra As the Ground Shifts, and The Magic of Four. All are part of the Land Mysteries series, best read in order. I also read several other extras on her Patreon. After that, I reread Bound for Perdition, In the Cards, and (currently) Point by Point.
Listening to: One Fell Sweep by Ilona Andrews, for the Edge/Innkeeper Read-Along, on my drive home from town on Monday. Since then, I haven’t felt up to it.
Playing: When I can concentrate at all, I’ve been playing Wordle, Connections, Strands, Spelling Bee, and Sudoku (all from the NYT.) And digital Wingspan.
