Belated Sunday Post – 2/15/2026

February 15, 2026 Sunday Post 7

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

This week I’m also participating in The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz, and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality.

The Past Week

In real life: On Monday, we met with a Realtor to discuss what’s needed to get the house ready to sell. (A lot, to be honest.) He also gave us an idea of what we might be able to sell it for, in the current market. In the afternoon, I worked on the fiber guild newsletter. On Tuesday, I went into town for a blood test and an ultrasound, and we met with our retirement advisor. Wednesday, I had a board meeting for my professional organization. On Thursday and Friday, I packed for my trip to Utah, and Mr. Bookwyrm and I celebrated an early Valentine’s Day.

I flew to Utah yesterday (Saturday) to visit my dad and stepmom. My dad’s birthday is in a few weeks. My goal while I’m here is to see if we can sort out the financial and legal stuff so I can step in to manage things on his behalf whenever Dad can’t do it anymore. (We may already be at that point, to be honest.)

5 Good Things:

  1. I was able to sell a few things we are letting go of, and give away some other things.
  2. We have a clearer idea of what we need to do over the next several months.
  3. The results of my medical tests were basically good, or at least unchanged.
  4. I was able to spend the entire 5-hour flight reading… the most unbroken reading time I have had in months.
  5. Mr. Bookwyrm sent me gorgeous roses for Valentine’s Day. They were waiting for me when I arrived at my dad and stepmom’s house.

Ten Years Ago I Was Reading…

I saw this idea on Lisa Loves Literature, who got it from Musings of a Bookish Kitty (who I also follow.) I thought I would give it a try! I published these reviews 10 years ago between Feb. 9 and Feb 15, 2016.

Stay kind, hopeful, and steadfast… and may your books bring you joy this week!

Helping aging parents is not an easy job. Good luck with all of that. And with getting your house ready to sell, too. Another big job. Whew. I don’t envy you that. Hope you manage to get some rest and relaxation in the midst of all of that.
