The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
On Monday, we drove to New Jersey to see our niece compete in Irish dance. My sister, brother-in-law, and parents were also there, so we had a short but wonderful family get-together. The talent of all the competitors was amazing! There was one young man whom I wouldn’t be surprised to see in Riverdance at some point, his footwork is so good. And so is Maria’s — she won the under-18 bracket, and is now CRN North American Irish Dance Solo Champion! We’re so glad we were able to be there to see her dance and win, especially since this was her comeback after being sidelined with injuries for the last year and more. We’re all very proud of her.
The rest of the week has been pretty quiet. Things have warmed up a bit, and the snow is finally melting. I actually enjoyed the snow, but I’m also pleased to see some warmer temperatures.
On Wednesday, I volunteered to cashier for the Friends of the Library mini-booksale. Business was slow, so I had plenty of time to look at books… as you can see from the pile I brought home. So much for trying to reduce my TBR pile!
The next two or three weeks promise to be very hectic (and not great for blogging.) I’ve got a 450-page indexing job due in 2 weeks, so I’ll be working a lot of long days. Rehearsals start March 2 for the choruses I direct, and there’s still quite a bit to do to prepare. And I’m looking forward to ‘Robin’ coming home in 2 weeks for spring break. I can’t wait to see her! So if it takes me a while to reply to your comments in the next few weeks, please don’t think I don’t care — I promise I’ll get to them as soon as I can squeeze in the time!

Congratulations to your niece! How exciting for her and for you to get to see her.
You got some great books. And it’s so much fun to find good books from your library sale. I’ll look forward to your reviews of The Time Tutors and Curtsies & Conspiracies. I hope your your indexing job goes well and have fun with with your choruses.

Thanks, Jan! I do love the library booksales — maybe a bit too much!

Thank you, Becki, and thanks for stopping by!

Congrats to your niece, that’s fantastic! And your next few weeks sound busy indeed.
Heh, your library pile looks like mine when I go to the used book sale. 😀
Happy reading!

She was amazing!
Used book sales are pretty irresistible, aren’t they? [grins]

I really want to read Guidebook to Murder, I Capture the Castle, and River Road.

Can’t wait to start River Road. Guidebook to Murder looked fun, so I am glad I was approved. And I’ve wanted to read I Capture the Castle for a while.

I’m reading Mistborn right now and it’s pretty good! My first Brandon Sanderson. Also I Capture the Castle is a fantastic book. Very nice haul! LOVE library book sales. Good luck on your hectic weeks to come!

Good to hear, on both counts! Thanks — I’m going to need all the good wishes I can get!

Congrats to your niece. I hope you like River Road, wonderful haul this week Lark!

Thanks, Kimba! I’m sure I will — but I think I’ll miss Krentz’s paranormal stuff. I wonder if she’ll go back to it at some point.

Great haul! I’ve started Sanderson’s The Way of Kings. I am looking forward to reading more of Sanderson’s books. 🙂
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
I’ve never read any, but so many people keep recommending him, I figured I should start!

Congratulations to your niece, good for her! You’ve got some pretty good looking mysteries and fantasies there- I love the cover of Guidebook to Murder.
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
I seem to be on a mystery and fantasy kick recently. I usually go on single-genre binges, but with blogging, I’ve been trying to mix it up a bit more!
Herding Cats - Burning Soup
Aw sounds like a pretty great week. And woot! Love those library book sales 🙂
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Library book sales are my downfall. I have as little self-restraint as I do with chocolate. Probably less.

Congratulations to your niece, the girls look very nice in their dancing costumes. Guidebook to Murder caught my eye, looks like a book shop is the setting? I would pick that up.
My Sunday post is here

Bookstore and coffee shop… right up my alley! (Well, I don’t drink coffee, but tea on the other hand…)
