The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
I’m working flat out all weekend again, so this is going to be short. Actually, there’s not much to report blogwise, except a lovely email interchange with Victoria Hamilton (aka Amanda Cooper, aka Donna Lea Simpson) this week, which culminated in her sending me ARCs of both her forthcoming mysteries. SQUEE! Her books are so much fun!

Tempest in a teapot looks like my kind of read! And I love the Newman covers! Happy reading and have a great week!

Thanks, Melissa! Those Newman books have gotten some interesting reviews, so I grabbed the titles when they were on sale. I’ve just started Tempest in a Teapot and it looks like it will be as much fun as Hamilton’s other books. (Same author, different name.)

How exciting about the Victoria/Hamilton/Amanda Cooper emails! I haven’t read any of her books YET but I think I own at least 3 and I want to get the teapot book. I like Murder in the Vicarage and I love Deborah Crombie and Rhys Bowen so those look fun. I own a Charles Todd but have yet to get to him and what is the Josephine Tey mystery?? Has someone taken over her stories? How did I miss this? Off to go check that out. Have a great and slightly more relaxing week!

I haven’t read the Bess Crawford books by Charles Todd yet, but I’ve read one or two of his other series and they are good. I’ve been picking up the Bess Crawfords as they go on sale. The Josephine Tey mystery isn’t by her, it’s about her — she’s the detective. There’s a whole series of novels like this. Same idea as the mystery series featuring Beatrix Potter; the main character is a fictionalized version of a real person. But Upson’s series is a lot darker.

Look at all those lovely books! That was awfully nice of Hamilton to send you those books. Good luck with work and happy reading (for fun)!
