The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
This week I’m also participating in The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz, and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality.
Last Week
In real life: Still working hard, and not doing much else, to be honest (except reading in the middle of the night, as you’ll see below.) I’m closing in on the end, though!
And I’m looking forward to cooking up our Thanksgiving favorites this week.Mr. Bookwyrm and I will be on our own again this year, but I’m still planning a proper Thanksgiving meal, from turkey and stuffing to pumpkin pie. (I do plan to take a few shortcuts, like having my dear Aunt Marie Callander make the pie this year. [wink])

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching
Reading: Like last week, I’m mostly reading in the night, when I can’t sleep. I finished rereading the Arcane Society novels with Canyons of Night (Jayne Castle, AKA Jayne Ann Krentz.) Since I wasn’t done with the indexing project, I went on to reread the sequels to Canyons of Night, which was a crossover novel; it’s the last book in the Arcane Society novels, but it’s part of the Harmony (AKA Ghost Hunters) series as well. So I reread The Lost Night, Deception Cove, The Hot Zone, and Siren’s Call. Then I reread some of the earlier books in the same series: After Dark, After Glow, Ghost Hunter, Silver Master, and Dark Light. (Hey, I said I was having trouble sleeping! Also, I can go through one of these in around an hour and a half, or less.)
I also started I Should Be Writing: A Writer’s Workshop, a short, advice-packed book for new writers. (And yes, I should be writing.)
Playing: Wordle, Connections, and the NYT Spelling Bee, in the odd moment here and there.
Watching: Occasionally Stephen Colbert’s monologue.

Anne - Books of My Heart
I hope you will have a relaxing Thanksgiving. We loved the Razzleberry pie but it’s not GF.

It’s hard to find GF pies. My mom uses a frozen GF pie crust to make one of her pumpkin (really butternut squash) pies, and makes her from-scratch pie crust for the other. But when it’s just me and Mr. Bookwyrm, we don’t have to worry about GF. Have a great Thanksgiving!

I’m going to try to make an apple pie with a GF crust (purchased) and a apple crisp topping. We will see if it works.

Sounds delicious!

I hope you guys have a nice Thanksgiving. There’s something about Thanksgiving dinner even if it’s not a big family gathering. And Krentz’s books look fun. I was looking at another of her series recently…

Thank you, Greg! Most of our family (both sides) are pretty far away, so we save the family get-togethers for Christmas.
Krentz’s books are fun. They’re like candy: tasty, over too soon, and addictive.
Yvonne @ Socrates Book Reviews
I haven’t read any Jayne Castle books yet. I do like her writing as Jayne Ann Krentz and Amanda Quick.
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving and a great week!

Barb @ Booker T's Farm
It is just us and the pups this year but we will do a full meal. Mr. Barb loves to cook. Thanksgiving Day is also our anniversary this year so I will enjoy a low key week at home with the pups. Congrats on reading so much but bummer you couldn’t sllep.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving! My pie is not going to be homemade either. 🙂

Isn’t it nice that we have the option? Happy Thanksgiving!

An hour and a half per book? That sounds like those are really quick reads! I hope you can manage to get some better sleep soon.
I’m doing the opposite for Thanksgiving this year, and having all the local family (and an out of town house-guest) over for Thanksgiving. Though it will also be the first year in a long time when I’m not baking the pies! My sister will be handling that job this year.

Her books are generally pretty fast reads, but they go even quicker for me when rereading — at least, this series does. I end up skimming parts of the books (especially the world-building info-dumps) because I already know that material. (And yes, there are some info-dumps in this series, but the first time or two, they provide important information. I put up with them because the stories themselves are a lot of fun.)
Also, I’m a fast reader… though not as fast as I used to be, because my aging eyes don’t work as well.

Small thanksgivings are nice too! Especially when you would have to travel a long way. I hope you’re able to get some sleep, but at least you’re getting reading done if not! Twelfth Knight is one I’m hoping to read as well. Hope you have a nice holiday!

Look at those fun reads! I am sorry you can’t sleep, but it looks like you are keeping good company via your books. All our Thanksgivings are small and this year we aren’t prepared at all since we’ve all been sick. If Mouse tests negative tomorrow we will be able to spend the day with my mom, but otherwise, we’ll stay home and probably make spaghetti or something easy. I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving and a great rest of your week!

I’ve had your Aunt’s pies and they are quite tasty! Especially since she saves you the trouble of having to mess with a pie crust. The Jayne Ann Krentz books are really calling me right now. I need to do a binge read of her books. I hope you are having a wonderful week and have a happy Thanksgiving!

We will be participating in four Thanksgiving celebrations this year! Whew! I am bringing food for all but one, so I have been crazy busy.
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m just getting around to visiting my blog friends this week—apologies for being so late to the table.
