The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
This week I’m also participating in The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz, and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality.
The Past Week
DON’T FORGET to update the excerpt!
Happy Easter to those who celebrate it! We streamed the Holy Week and Easter services from my parents’ church. We dyed eggs yesterday. This morning we exchanged Easter baskets and had cinnamon buns in lieu of hot cross buns (which I can’t find around here, and can’t make with the wrist brace on.) This afternoon, we will have our traditional Easter dinner, just the two of us.
We are still trying to line up a contractor (or contractors) for some work on the house. Meanwhile, I’m trying to do at least a little organizing and decluttering ahead of time, though it’s challenging with only one fully functional hand.
Speaking of which, my right wrist and thumb are definitely healing, but they are still a little sore and stiff, with some residual swelling in my thumb. I will see the orthopedic PA this week, and hopefully they will say I can stop using the wrist/thumb brace. I might need some exercises or PT to strengthen the muscles and regain flexibility after a month of immobility, though.
Writing accountability: I didn’t get any writing done again this month. (Sigh.) I have signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo in hopes of jumpstarting myself again. My writing goal is 250 words every day (fiction or other creative writing; book reviews don’t count.) I plan to keep using 4theWords to gamify my writing sprints.

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching
Reading: I finished rereading The God of the Hive to continue my Mary Russell & Sherlock Holmes series reread. After that, I read on A Midnight Puzzle by Gigi Pandian and Love at First Book by Jenn McKinlay, both ARCs. I’m currently reading The Love Remedy by Elizabeth Everett (also an ARC.)
Listening to: The Writing Excuses podcast (season 9) and the Smart Podcast, Trashy Books podcast. I didn’t get around to The Cartographers this week.
Playing: Same as usual: the NYT word games (Wordle, Connections, and the Spelling Bee) and a little Pokémon Go.
Watching: Brokenwood Season 8.

So sorry that the hand has been immobilised for such a long time and typing one-handed must be an exercise in frustration. No wonder the writing has stalled. I’ve been effectively dead in the water writing-wise since Christmas and decided what with everything else going on – I’m going to give myself a Pass. I hope you can too.
Have a lovely Easter Day and I hope the coming week is a good one:).

My daughter is having problems with her wrist tendons and the doctor recommended Voltaren gel which is now over the counter and it’s helping her. Happy Easter!

I have Love at First Book coming up on my reading list and I enjoyed A Midnight Puzzle. We had orange rolls this morning but cinnamon rolls are also pretty yummy. I think I prefer both options to hot cross buns. Have a wonderful week!

I’m sorry, Patricia. I’ll try to figure out what’s wrong.
