Cozy Mystery Giveaway

As part of my 7th Blogoversary celebrations, I’m giving away two paperback cozy mysteries to one lucky winner!

By Cook or By Crook is the first novel in the Five-Ingredient Mystery series set on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.  When I reviewed it back in November of 2014, I described it as “a tasty blend of mystery, small-town charm, and a hint of romance.” If you click the title link, you can also read a guest post by Maya Corrigan. I’m giving away my gently used ARC (you can hardly tell it’s been read.)

A Biscuit, a Casket combines pets, Halloween, a somewhat quirky small town, and of course murder and tops them off with a heroine with an unusual nickname. It’s “a quick, enjoyable mystery” with “moments that made me laugh as well as scenes that had me tensely turning pages to see what would happen next.” I was lucky enough to score an interview with Ms. Mugavero, who is as charming and friendly as her books. I’m giving away a gently-read finished copy — again, you’ll hardly know it has been read.

My all time favorite cozy mystery series? That’s a tough one! I love the Miss Marple books and the Miss Silver (Patricia Wentworth) books which could technically qualify as cozies. If I’m sticking to more recent series I’d say probably Sheila Connolly’s Apple Orchard series. It’s not flawless but it’s one I always enjoy visiting.

You’ll get me reading Miss Silver one of these days! Miss Marple you know I love. And I’ve been thinking I should try Connolly’s mysteries, including that series.

My all time favorite series? Lady Julia Grey mysteries by Deanna Raybourn, and Krista Davis and Ellery Adams series are high on the list, too.

    • Lark_Bookwyrm

I haven’t tried Davis or Adams yet, but I love Raybourn’s new Veronica Speedwell series, and need to get back to the Lady Julia series.

  3. Marie

My all time favorite series? Hmm. Currently it is the Bakeshop Mysteries by Ellie Alexander. Loving those!

Happy Blogaversary! I greatly enjoy your efforts. I frequently find out about a new author, book, or series I need to add to my list. Thank you.

Congrats again on your 7th Blogoversary! There are so many great cozy series out there so choosing one is hard, but Lucy Burdette’s Key West Food Critic Mysteries, Victoria Abbott’s Book Collector Mysteries and Connie Archer’s Soup Lover’s Mysteries are 3 of my all time favorites. Thanks for the giveaways!

    • Lark_Bookwyrm

I love Connie’s Soup Lover’s series, and plan to start Abbott’s Book Collector series soon, since I just got one on on Kindle.

Mrs. Pollifax is near to my heart for being among the first I read after Agatha Christie. Presently, any series by Jen McKinlay is good, in particular the cupcake shop ones!

    • Lark_Bookwyrm

Oh, I love Mrs. Pollifax! And I enjoy McKinlay’s Library Lovers series, but haven’t tried her other ones yet.

  7. dianne casey

One of my favorite mystery series are the Hannah Swenson Cookie Jar Mysteries by Joanne Fluke.

  8. Anne C.

I haven’t read any cozy series yet. I’m a horror and Ya book fan but would love to explore the cozy mystery genre.

      • Anne C.

I will, thanks! Moved to a new city and one of the first thing I did was to get a library card. 🙂

  9. Marilyn Watson

Without a doubt Agatha Christie is my favorite and for current it would be M.C. Beaton, Susan Elias MacNeal or Cindy Brown…but there are so many good ones… for food it would be Daryl Wood Gerber…

I do enjoy Susan Elias MacNeal’s Maggie Hope series! And Christie is a long-time favorite; I think I’ve read almost all her books at least once.

New cozy series, yay! And I love that you’re passing along YOUR ARCs!
