To be honest, I’m a little disappointed in myself. I have a tendency to overestimate what I can do. In this case, I read a lot more books than these, but the rest were mostly old favorites or (in a few cases) library books that had to go back to the library. Oh, well — at least I got 5 ARCs read, and most of them were read well ahead of the publication date, which is something else I’ve been trying to work on.

I do the same thing with the overestimating but 5 is great! I really liked Murder at Honeychurch Hall and I’m really looking forward to starting The Beekeeper’s Ball next week. The others look interesting too – I”m particularly interested in the Jill Paton Walsh.

Thanks, Katherine! I’ll be interested to see what you think of the Jill Paton Walsh book. Have you read any of her other Peter Wimsey/Harriet Vane novels? She usually does a pretty good job with them, even matching her voice to Sayers’ voice reasonably well, but they aren’t quite Sayers. (Still, resaonably good Lord Peter & Harriet is way better than no Peter & Harriet at all!)

You may not have made your goal but you got 5 read so that’s something. My month was a mix of ARCs, library books, and other books.

I saw your May Challenge wrap-up – you did awesome! 11 books for the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge – that’s great!
I meant to read nothing but ARCs, but you know, I just couldn’t! When I’m tired or stressed out, I either want something familiar or something by an author I know and like — which offers familiarity without my actually having read it before. I think the COYER challenge will be helpful for that, because I set a more reasonable goal which left myself room for re-reading. Live and learn, right?

Hey… at least you participated!! I didn’t get as many read as I wanted either ( I only get graphic novels as ARCs). But whatever! Good job and thanks for joining up!
