Challenges
Here’s the breakdown of my reading challenges this year so far:
- Goodreads Challenge: 22/140. I am right on track!
- Audiobook challenge: Listened to 4/12; reviewed 2/12
- COYER Out to Lunch challenge: Read 20/25; reviewed 8/25
- Ilona Andrews series read-along: Read 1; reviewed 1 (I’m a little behind on book 2)
- Library Love Challenge: Read 3/12; reviewed 2/12
- NetGalley & Edelweiss Challenge: Read 4/25; reviewed 4/25 (Reviews includes 2 books read prior to 2025, so I still have 2 ARCs that I read in January to review. I didn’t read any ARCs in February.)
- Robin’s Recs: Read 1/6; reviewed 0/6. (I’m halfway through an audiobook, too, so I’m actually on track as far as reading goes.)
Other Goals and Resolutions
Writing: Days I wrote: 0 . Number of words written: 0. I need to do better in March!
Prioritizing reading and writing time over screen time: As in January, this did not go well. The stress of the ongoing political craziness continues to play havoc with my ability to concentrate, and the two weeks I spent with my dad and stepmom, while wonderful, held little time for reading or writing.
Review more of the books I read: This didn’t go as well in February, but I hope to catch up a bit in March.
Unpack and reorganize my book collection: I was away for half of February, so very little got done. Hopefully I can make some progress in March.
Catalogue my books: Books catalogued in February: 0.

Anne - Books of My Heart
Your February had other equally important priorities. Now you can take a new focus in March. So I think you did very well.

Thank you. You’re certainly right about the priorities! I’m still on track for the year, though, so on the whole, I’m pleased with February.

I’ve got to get back to that Andrea Penrose series. I really enjoyed the books I read. Inheritance was one of my favorite reads of 2024 though I am a bit jealous that no unknown family member has ever left me a furnished and haunted house on a cliff! Happy March!

I think we all dream of being left a gorgeous house somewhere beautiful! I don’t know that I would have the courage that Sonya and Cleo have to deal with a malevolent ghost, but I would love to inherit a beautiful, historic mansion (and the trust fund to maintain it, of course!) And I would happily share it with benevolent spirits.

Great job on the reading! Though I feel your pain on the writing front. I had been meaning to get back to writing last month, but still haven’t touched anything. Hopefully in March?

Hopefully in March, yes. For both of us.

I have also been spending way too much time on screens. I need to stop doomscrolling. I hope you have a great March!

But there’s so much doom to scroll (sigh). I hope we’re both able to pull back on the doomscrolling, and focus on things we can actually do, whether for ourselves or for others.
