In the Dragon’s Eye is where I share the books I’ve got my acquisitive eye on: the ones I’m really excited about and hope to read and perhaps add to the hoard.  I also link to “Waiting On” Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the SpineCover links take you to Goodreads; all blurbs are also from Goodreads.

Only Beloved (Mary Balogh)

Survivors’ Club #7
Signet, May 3, 2016 (paperback)

For the first time since the death of his wife, the Duke of Stanbrook is considering remarrying and finally embracing happiness for himself. With that thought comes the treasured image of a woman he met briefly a year ago and never saw again.

Dora Debbins relinquished all hope to marry when a family scandal left her in charge of her younger sister. Earning a modest living as a music teacher, she’s left with only an unfulfilled dream. Then one afternoon, an unexpected visitor makes it come true.

For both George and Dora that brief first encounter was as fleeting as it was unforgettable. Now is the time for a second chance. And while even true love comes with a risk, who are two dreamers to argue with destiny?

Why I want to read it:

  1. Mary Balogh is one of my auto-buy, auto-read authors. I love almost everything she has written.
  2. If I needed another reason, I’ve been waiting for George’s story since the series began.
  3. If I needed a third reason, I’ve been wanting an HEA for Doris since I first met her in an earlier book.
  4. But really, reason #1 would be enough.

She’s one of my very favorites. I wish she wrote faster, but I’d hate for the quality to slip, so I’ll live with it! She’s been re-releasing a lot of her early backlist as self-published ebooks, which at least gives me some titles to tide me over! I’ve liked most of the older ones I’ve read, but not as much as I like the stuff since about One Night for Love.
