The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures – I mean books!
My Week
The concert is this afternoon! Yesterday’s rehearsal went very well—not perfectly, but I always worry if the rehearsal is perfect. Better that they peak at the performance. ETA: The concert went really well. I was so proud of “my ” kids–they sang beautifully and did indeed peak on concert day!
Robin got home late Friday night; it’s so good to have her home!
I came down with a bad cold on Tuesday, which sapped a lot of my physical and mental energy and kept me from reviewing the books I’d planned to post on Thursday and Friday. On the other hand, before that I was making progress with Blog Ahead, so in future I will have a few posts “in the can” to pull out when I need them.
Next weekend is my college reunion. I’ll be gone from Friday morning through Monday night. I doubt I’ll have time for much blogging, so I probably won’t post News & Notes, and the Sunday Post might be iffy as well.

What I’m Reading/Watching
I read The Hidden Oracle (Rick Riordan) and started New Order, a book on decluttering that I got from the library last week. I tried reading Nora Roberts’ The Obsession, but it triggered too much anxiety—I don’t do well with books about serial killers that put you into the killer’s head. So despite my fondness for Roberts, I gave up on that one. Instead, given my cold, I went for familiar books: reread The Wizard of London and Home from the Sea (click link for review), which are the immediate prequels to A Study in Sable which I read the previous week. I need to get back to Wishing Day (Lauren Myracle, ARC), but I’m having trouble staying focused on it (probably due to the cold. It’s an easy read, just not holding my attention right now.)
In audio, I finished the Great Courses introductory course to Christianity and started on Great World Religions: Islam. In TV, we finished season 8 and started season 9 of Poirot, both of which are just two TV movies each.

For Review or Review Consideration
Thank you to Berkley!
Purchased for Kindle
I’ve read the Agatha Christie before, as well as Lackey’s Home from the Sea, but my copy of the Christie was falling apart when I got it, and I didn’t own the Lackey and wanted to read it this week. (Kindle impulse buy!) The other three are books I’ve not yet read.

I wish you all a terrific week, and happy reading!
Lola
I hope the concert goes perfect! And indeed it’s best they peak during the actual performance than during the rehearsal.
I hope you’re feeling better! And that’s good you made some progress during Blog Ahead! It’s good to have a buffer of posts, so that when you’re not feeling well you can take some time off and not worry about the blog as much. I like being ahead as it makes me more creative and feel less rushed.
I hope you’ll have a fun time at your college reunion! Knit to be Tied looks like a fun cozie! And I heard good things about Stone Cold Cowboy, I think I own a copy of that one I once own in a giveaway. Have a great week!

Thank you, Lola! The concert went well; I’m really happy. They’re all such wonderful kids. The cold is still being a cold, and in a little while the exhaustion is going to hit me hard, but for right now, I’m still “up” from the concert. I enjoyed one of the other Jennifer Ryan books in the Montana Men series, so I’m looking forward to reading Stone Cold Cowboy. And I’ve been following Maggie Sefton’s Knitting Mystery series for a long time now. 🙂 I wish you a great week also!
Lillian @ Mom with a Reading Problem
I hope the concert goes well for you and that you are feeling better! I loved doing the mini-blog ahead challenge. I’m moving this summer so it was nice to get several posts ready for the weeks I’ll be without internet access.
Hope you have a great week and enjoy your new reads 😀

Oh, thank you for reminding me–I can still fit one or two more posts in for the Blog Ahead challenge! The concert went well; I’m exhausted but happy and very proud of “my” kids. Good luck with your move, and I hope you’ll drop by The Bookwyrm’s Hoard again. 🙂
Jan @ Notes from a Readerholic
I hope your concert went well, Lark. And so nice Robin is home. I hope your cold is going away. You got some good looking books. I decided not to get The Obsession. I don’t like to read books about serial killers.
Have fun at your reunion!

The concert went really well; thank you! I agree with The Obsession. I’m glad I borrowed it rather than buying it. Like I said, what I read was good, but it just wasn’t right for me.
Got My Book
Congratulations on the concert. I hope you are feeling better. Have fun at the reunion.

It was a yucky cold. I still have the dregs, but it’s getting better. Fingers crossed that I can sing madrigals by Saturday.
