The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Tonight is the night of our spring concert — “our” being the children’s and teen choruses I direct. The kids have worked hard and they’re going to do really well! As you can imagine, getting ready has been my focus this week, so I didn’t get quite as much blogging done as I’d hoped. I finished both the books I had planned to review, but didn’t get the reviews finished.
The past week on the blog:
- Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Words/Topics That Instantly Make Me Buy/Pick Up A Book
- Clean Sweep ARC Challenge announcement
- News & Notes: Links to news on ebook pricing, DRM, library ebooks, and more; a new Kobo e-reader; copyright basics for authors; a list of children’s chapter books.
The coming week:
- Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books When You Need Something Light & Fun
- News & Notes
- reviews of Clockwork Mafia (Seleste DeLaney) and The Apple Orchard (Susan Wiggs)
Challenges:
I joined the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge for May, hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Kimberly at The Windy Pages. Since May 1, I’ve read three ARCs (well, one was a review copy of a book that’s already been published, but only recently), and I’ve started another.
I’m also participating in the NetGalley Challenge sponsored by Red House Books, which runs all year. So far this month, I’ve finished three NetGalley books. (By a strange coincidence, they’re the very same ones!) I’ll post titles in early June.

I just don’t know when to stop, do I? I have no idea why I thought I’d have time to read these this month. I haven’t even finished the stack of library books from last month. (I haven’t even started last month’s stack!) Thank heaven for unlimited renewals (as long as no one else requests the book, anyway!)

I don’t think I’m familiar with any of these books, but I hope you enjoy them! And good luck to the chorus!

Thank you! Yesterday’s rehearsal went well, so I’m pretty confident.

Your cozies are calling to me…I’ve only read two so far for my Cozies Challenge.
Enjoy your week!
Here’s MY SUNDAY SALON POST
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
I ran across a review for one of these — number three or four, I think — and they looked like fun. We’ll see!

Our library works similar, I love that I can renew a books at least a few times. 🙂 Sudden;y Royal is one that I hope my library carries soon. Happy reading…

I love my library! (And libraries in general.) As for Suddenly Royal, it didn’t look like my library was going to get it any time soon, but the sale price was pretty good.

I got His Majesty’s Dragon when it was on sale this week, too. I haven’t read these books so I’m looking forward to it. Suddenly Royal sounds good, too.
Have fun with the spring concert. It’s so great you direct the choruses.
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Thank you! I really love working with these kids. They’re such a joy!
Becki @ The Flutterby Room
His Majesty’s Dragon is a brilliant book, and that was an amazing price to get it at. I hope you enjoy all your books.
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
I know; I loved the audio version. Thanks for coming by!
Catherine @ Book Club Librarian
Great haul…and I can so relate to what you say about unlimited library renewals (my library has a limit of 10 renewals) and acquiring more books even when you haven’t gotten to what you already have!
Here’s my book haul for the week–lots of books from two events I attended–AAP Book Buzz and Random House Open House: http://www.bookclublibrarian.com/2013/05/sundays-weekly-book-recap-16.html
All this…and BEA is at the end of the month! Have a great week!
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
BEA… oh, I’d love to go to that someday! Not this year, though. I’m even forgoing my college reunion to get a big work project done. You must be in or near New York, I’m guessing?

I don’t have a review this week either but I just finished a book last night so I need to get to it. Enjoy your challenges!
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Some weeks are like that! Thank you for stopping by — I don’t think we’ve “met” before. I’m off to check out your blog!

Ooh, good luck with the spring concert! Hope the kids enjoy it 🙂 Suddenly Royal looks interesting. I liked The Princess Diaries, so a similar book for adults sounds good. Hadn’t heard of it before. Hehe, I know what you mean about having waaaaay too many books to read…
Hope you enjoy all your reads and have a lovely week! 🙂
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Thank you! They seem to be having fun. 🙂
I actually haven’t read The Princess Diaries (I did love the movie), but I thought SR sounded like a fun romp.
Enjoy your week!

Good luck tonight and Suddenly Royal looks way too cute, enjoy your new goodies and have a wonderful week! The Sunday Post

Thanks, Kimba! Have a great week, yourself! I saw you have some fun stuff coming up this week.

Royal looks good, and I hope you enjoy.

Thank you, Brandi, and thanks for coming by!

Unlimited renewals? I’m jealous. I thought my library was generous in letting you renew twice if no one is waiting but then you’re done. The books you go look good.
I hope the concert goes smoothly and good luck with your ARC challenge. I’m off to a goo start; I’ve read three and working on the fourth. 🙂
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
The concert was great! Sounds like we’re both doing well on the ARC challenge.
And yes, my library is AWESOME. It’s actually in the nearest small city; our county library is nice but small, so we pay to be members of a multiple-county library system that isn’t *too* far away.

Ooo, do look forward to your thoughts on Clockwork Mafia. 😀 ANd How did I miss the Fairytale freebie? Hmm. Well, hope you have a great week!
I too posted a Sunday Post, if you’d like to stop by…

I hope to post a Clockwork Mafia review in the next few days. (Briefly: fun and entertaining.) Now I’m off to check your post, then get some much-needed sleep!

Oh I hope you love Suddenly Royal! It’s one of my favorites! (I had the BIGGEST book hangover after reading it- I didn’t want to read anything else!!!) Enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by my STS!

I hope I do, too — it certainly looks like fun! Thanks for coming by!

Hopefully your concert went off without a hitch! Trust me getting nothing to review is a good thing because before long you will be drowning in books and never have time to read what you want…that is me! Happy reading and have a wonderful week!
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
The concert went really well — thank you! And I’m relieved I didn’t get any review books last week; I’m already swamped. But I did get approved this week for a book I really wanted.
Kimberly @ Turning the Pages
Nice book haul! I can’t wait to see your review The Apple Orchard This week! Love your library haul I really need to start the Cat in the Stacks series! Will you be reviewing the first one on your blog when you’ve finished it?
I hope you enjoy all your new reads!

Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Apple Orchard post should go up midweek! I do plan to review the first Cat in the Stacks, or maybe the series, but heaven only knows when I’ll get to read them. I’m focusing on ARCs right now, both for the ARC challenge and because I have so darn many!
