Sunday Post – 5/18/14

May 18, 2014 Sunday Post, week in review 14

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  It’s a chance to share news, a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Robin is coming home tomorrow! I can hardly wait! It will be so wonderful to have her home for the summer. Well, for most of it. She got into the Alpha writer’s workshop again (huzzah! We’re so delighted for her!) so she’ll be gone for about 10 days in late July, but other than that, we get the whole summer. We’re already planning to go see TFIOS together, and How To Train Your Dragon 2, which looks like as much fun as the first one was.

Last week’s concert was terrific. I was very proud of my young singers, and of our three graduating seniors, who all performed solos (one vocal, two piano) and sounded amazing.

Since Sunday, things have been pretty quiet, which was good because I wasn’t as over my cold as I thought. (Must have been adrenaline that got me through last weekend’s rehearsal and concert.) This week, I’ve concentrated on resting and catching up on things that slipped through the cracks in the previous weeks, including some reading and blogging. Tomorrow, though, it’s back to work at my day job — another indexing project — before heading to the airport to pick up Robin.

I noticed the purple/yellow theme. 😀 I like it. All of your books look good, enjoy.

Sorry to hear your cold is hanging on, but yay for Robin coming home! It sounds like last week was a good week, despite your cold. I’m also looking forward to How To Train Your Dragon 2 though I’ll probably wait until it’s out on DVD.

Her college lets out early; she’s been spending a week with my parents and my sister’s family. I intend to soak her up while she’s home! Thanks for stopping by!

PArallel looks interesting and I read the Assassin’s Apprentice books a while back. I think Robin Hobb is a really good writer and I liked the books although I did have a few issues with them. Looking forward to seeing what you think down the road…

I thought it looked interesting, too. I’ve been meaning to read the Robin Hobb books for a while now, and just haven’t gotten around to them. It will probably be a while before I have time to read it, but hey, when those good Kindle deals come along, I try to grab them before they disappear.

Oh I know you must be thrilled to have Robin back and how exciting for her to get into the workshop!! I can’t believe we’re already shifting for summertime. Enjoy your new reads – I just clicked to check out the Keri Arthur one. And I forgot to grab my synch downloads!
