August 11, 2019 Sunday Post 5

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

Last Week

Reminder from last week: Between work and some other things that are going on, I probably won’t be around much for the next week or two. I’ll try to get a post written here and there, but don’t worry if you don’t see me. I’m OK, just very busy!

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: I reread The Rosemary Tree by one of my all-time favorite authors, Elizabeth Goudge. I hadn’t read it in at least 15 years, probably more like 20. It was interesting to see what had stuck with me all these years, and what I had forgotten. Now I’m rereading the Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts, and I’m still reading Dragonfell (Sarah Prineas, ARC.)

Listening to:  Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking. I’ve also been listing to “classical focus” playlists on Spotify, to try to stay focused while I’m working.

Watching: Still watching season 4 of Eureka; we have only one episode left, and only one more season after that. We’ve also been watching Star Trek: Discovery. Season 2 has been a wild ride, and we’ve got 3 episodes left. After that, we’ll just have to compose our souls in patience: Season 3 is confirmed but there isn’t a firm release date yet. On the other hand, the Picard series looks intriguing, and it’s already well into filming. And there are rumors Michelle Yeoh might get a spinoff series about Section 31.

  1. RO

You’re definitely all in with Nora Roberts, I see, and I adore Susan Mallery. I really enjoy procedural dramas, and have been really hooked on The Good Fight with Christine Baranski. The writing is simply brilliant. Know you’re busy, but hope you get in some relaxation along the way. Hugs, RO

  2. Anne - Books of My Heart

I’m just starting to read and collect some Nora Roberts. I’ve also been seeing a lot of Carriger and got one freebie I think I will want to try.

I too have been off the grid moving and then at Book Bonanza. Finally I am getting back to a more regular routine. I hope it’s a great week, although busy. I’m busy but happy to be doing things.
