COYER Scavenger Hunt sign-up

May 16, 2015 Challenges 10

COYER_ScavHuntLogo-SignUpI’m signing up for the COYER Scavenger Hunt, the Summer 2014 COYER challenge hosted by Berls of Fantasy is More Fun, Michelle of Because Reading, and Stormi of Books, Movies, Reviews.Oh My! COYER stands for Clean Out Your E-Reader, but last summer, they opened the challenge up to other books as well. This summer, you can read any book for the challenge, as long as you acquired it legally. And there’s a fun scavenger hunt to liven things up – but you don’t have to do the scavenger hunt, you can just read and review if you’d rather. The challenge runs from June 20 to Sept. 4, which is good for me because I’m finding that I rarely do well with one-month challenges.

I have a lot of fun with these women – they started a closed Facebook group where COYER participants can hang out and dish (or kvetch) about books, NetGalley, and other bloggerish stuff. And they’re friendly, supportive, and really understanding about my crazy schedule (sometimes I can visit and comment a lot; sometimes I’m working so hard I can’t even keep up with my own blog, let alone anyone else’s.) Plus, the last scavenger hunt was great! So there’s no way I could turn down this challenge.

Here are my goals:
  • Read 20 new-to-me books overall.
  • Read 5 of my ARCs that haven’t been published yet, and write and schedule the review before the publication date (but not necessarily during COYER).
  • Read 5 books from my Top of the Hoard challenge list – and post the reviews.
  • Participate in the Scavenger Hunt with any books that qualify (and maybe pick a few more just for the hunt!)

If you want to join in, click here to go to the rules page and sign-up linky. C’mon, it’ll be fun!

Oh, what fun – I’m so glad you’re doing it too! I’ll do the scavenger hunt part, but more in terms of seeing what categories the books I read fit into, rather than tailoring my reading to the hunt. I might do a few of the read-a-thons too, but I usually have trouble making those work – too much else going on in my life!

It’s been a lot of fun hanging out with you gals on Facebook, and the COYER challenge last summer helped me clear some stuff of my e-reader – which I have now more than replaced. So I really need this one!

Thank you, Michelle! I’d better get started – I haven’t really done any COYER reading yet because of my vacation.
