April 28, 2019 Sunday Post 7

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

My Week

I hope you all had a good week. Ours was quiet, on the whole. but seemed to go by in a blur, without getting much accomplished. I was under the weather for a day or two, and worried I was coming down with what Mr. Bookwyrm had before Easter, but I’m fine now.

There are just two weeks left until the concert and a week or so until my project is due, so I’ll be pretty busy for the next two weeks. That means I’ll only be on the blog and around the blogosphere sporadically. I do have one review scheduled each week.

An author friend of mine will be releasing her book in about 3 1/2  weeks. I beta-read it and loved it. I’ve offered to try to put together a blog tour around and just after the release date. (I know it’s short notice!)  If you enjoy historical romance or steampunk/gaslight, and you would be interested in participating with a review, interview, and/or guest post, or even a spotlight, please let me know in the comments below or send me an email at lark AT bookwyrmshoard DOT C O M, and leave an email address where I can contact you.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading:  I reread four historical romances that I meant to review when they came out, but didn’t. Hopefully, I can get the reviews written this time! I also reread a few other historical romances just for fun, because reading the overdue review books put me in a historical romance mood. And I’m close to the end of Snow White and Rose Red by Patricia Wrede.

First Rider’s Call is on semi-hiatus for the time being, until I get back into the fantasy-reading mood.

Listening to: I finished listening to Mary Poppins Comes Back. I’m enjoying these books for nostalgic reasons, and because some of the adventures are really delightful. I had forgotten how much gaslighting Mary Poppins does, though. It’s a little disturbing.

Watching: Episode 3 of Star Trek: Discovery Season 2, and several episodes of  Eureka Season 3.

I do love beauty and the beast stories. I’m looking forward to reading your review of The Beast’s Heart.

I used to watch and love Eureka, not sure if I’ve actually seen all the seasons though, might have to start from the beginning cuz it’s been quite a few years! Lol!

I saw the first few episode of the new Star Trek Discovery series and really enjoyed it. It’s also on my TBW (To Be Watched) list. Lol!

I hope you have a great week. x

I hope you won’t find the coming two weeks too hectic. I loved the Mary Poppins series when I was a girl, but am reluctant to reread them for fear of spoiling a raft of happy memories. Have a great week, Lark:)

  3. Anne - Books of My Heart

Well I hope you’re busy weeks go very well and I’m so glad you are feeling better. I don’t read much historical romance but I do sometimes do steampunk. Unfortunately, my calendar is filled out every day (even Saturday and Sunday) until mid June. I am so lucky to have access to so much great reading and can’t seem to say no often enough. I don’t really want to post more than one review a day other than on Sunday afternoons I do some backlist library books.

Sounds like a good reading week! Maybe I should look into the Mary Poppins audiobooks… I’ve never been too tempted to read the paper versions, but maybe in audio…

I’d be interested in getting more info about the blog tour, at any rate. Ping me? It sounds like it could be a lot of fun, though whether I can play along or not will mostly depend on the length of the book. 🙂
