The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

This week I’m also participating in The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz, and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality.
The Past Week
In real life: I’m still working on getting more help for my dad.
We are on our way to a family reunion. Robin flew in on Thursday, and the three of us left yesterday. We’re driving to the reunion site, and should arrive tonight. All three of us packed with a sudden trip to Utah in mind, in case Dad’s health deteriorates faster than we think. Assuming he’s still doing OK, I plan to visit him and my stepmom in a week or two.
4 Good Things:
- It’s always wonderful to see and spend time with Robin!
- One of my former choristers (and a friend of Robin’s) visited us for an afternoon and stayed for dinner.
- One of our nephews is an airline pilot; he was in the area on Tuesday, so I went to town to have breakfast with him at a local cafe before my doctor’s appointment at 11:30.
- We’re on vacation!

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching

Reading: It was a busy week, but I managed to squeeze in a few pages of Eclipse (Celia Lake) each day. I also…
Listening to: …finished Running Hot, book #5 in Jayne Ann Krentz’s Arcane Society series, and started on book #4, The Third Circle. Although they’re part of a series, each book has its own story arc, and the books written under the author’s Amanda Quick pseudonym take place over a century earlier, so it doesn’t much matter that I’m reading them a little out of order… especially since I have read the entire series several times before.
Playing: I played a little Wingspan (phone app) this week, and gave myself the comfort of a few short sessions of Winter Burrow during my lunch “break” (on Steam), which finished up the main arc of the game. There’s a bonus quest you can do after you finish the game; that should be fun, too, when I have a chance to play it. I also played a few of my usuals: Wordle, Connections, Strands, Spelling Bee, and Sudoku. And with Robin here, I started playing Pokemon Go again after several months of rarely even opening the app.

Ten Years Ago I Was Reading…
I saw this idea on Lisa Loves Literature, who got it from Musings of a Bookish Kitty (who I also follow.) I published these reviews 10 years ago this week, between June 14 and June 21, 2016.
