August 15, 2021 Sunday Post 4

The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

My Week

Last week’s Zoom reading of The Mousetrap was delightful, though one of our cast had to bow out half-way through for health readings. I ended up reading her part as well as my own. Because several of us had to drop out of today’s reading (including me; I have to work), the head of our play-reading group cancelled it. We will reconvene in September sometime.

Mr. Bookwyrm and I celebrated our anniversary this week: another quiet celebration, given the proliferation of the delta variant.

Everything is going well for Robin’s new place, and it looks like they can start moving in next weekend. Thanks to family, friends, yard sales, and thrift stores, they have most of the basics they need. It’s so exciting! We are sorry to be missing out on the fun of moving day (which will be more like moving week), but Mr. Bookwyrm can’t take time off this month, so we’re looking at sometime in fall. We’ll continue to pack Robin’s things for whenever we can make the trip (Covid permitting.)

Work has not been going well, so I will not be around today or most of this week. Sorry! I will make the rounds whenever I can steal a minute or two.

What I’m Reading/Watching

Reading: I read Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade, which has been on my TBR list since last summer. It was charming! I continued my Mary Russell & Sherlock Holmes reread with The Game and Locked Rooms, by Laurie R. King. (I reviewed the latter back in 2017.) I’m currently reading Sorcerer to the Crown (Zen Cho), which I set aside temporarily a few weeks ago, and picked up again on Friday. And I’m currently rereading The Language of Bees for my Mary Russell series reread.

That’s wonderful that Robin has most of the stuff they need for the move. Always such a relief! The reading of The Mousetrap sounds fun. Somehow I’ve never seen it in actual play form but I love the short story it’s based on. I hope you are able to get some rest with all the work craziness. Have a great week!
