The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
This Week
We had a quiet Fourth of July, except for a few minutes when our neighbor let off a few fireworks. (The ground type, not the rocket type.) Neither of us particularly wanted to go to the county fireworks display this year, so we just watched A Capitol Fourth on PBS.
My index project is still ongoing, so don’t expect to see me around the interwebs much this week.
We’re a little over a week into Tour de Fleece, with two weeks to go. I’ve managed to spin at least a little every day, except the first day (which I made up on one of the rest days.) You can see some of my progress in my WIP Wednesday post.

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching
Reading: I finished A Duchess by Midnight (Charis Michaels; ARC) and read Sweetwater and the Witch (Jayne Castle; ARC.) I also finished rereading The Fossil Door (Celia Lake.) I am enjoying rereading some of my favorite Albion books (even though I read them first in February and March!), so I went on to reread Pastiche, Wards of the Roses, Winter’s Charms, and On the Bias. I hope to get reviews written once I get past this index.
Watching: We finished up both Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 1, and Lord Peter Wimsey: Clouds of Witness. We also watched a Foyle’s War from season 7.
Added to the Hoard this week
Purchased (Kindle, print, or audio)
Kindle: The Devil You Know. (Click title for Goodreads page.)
For a change, there weren’t any Kindle deals I was keen to snap up this week, except The Devil You Know. I did preorder a few books, two of which are coming out this week: Touchstones: A Collection by Stephanie Burgis (Kindle), and A Prayer for the Crown-Shy by Becky Chambers (audiobook.) I also preordered two books from the UK that are coming out later this summer, so you’ll see those at some point.
Anne - Books of My Heart
You’re busy now but with the weather so hot that’s just as well. It’s cooler here after finally getting some rain but too wet for mowing.

We had a low key Fourth too. I’m hoping to start ST: Strange New Worlds soon. I’ve been hearing pretty enthusiastic things.

Firstly, it’s so nice to meet you! I love looking at the books others are reading – the covers on the ones you’ve chosen are all so colourful and interesting. We do share a love of romance, although I’m more Women’s Fiction than Fantasy. Have a wonderful week ahead.

I watched fireworks on tv too. Not quite the same but we don’t have any desire to go as far as we’d have to go to see them in person. I’m still working on the newest Star Trek. I like it!

Looks like you had a busy week. I need to read a Jayne Castle book as I used to love her books.

I watched some of A Capital Fourth, too. I didn’t know most of the performers but it was still nice. 🙂 I hope the week is off to a good start for you!
Nicole @ BookWyrm Knits
Neighbors here are still setting off the occasional burst of nighttime fireworks. So annoying.
I still really like those Celia Lake covers!

Fireworks started here on July 2 and lasted at least through the 5th. We were surrounded on the 4th. Back home in NC, we can only buy little “fireworks.” Here in Montana, it felt like everyone had professional fireworks. My nerves were frayed and I don’t usually have an issue with them.
The Celia Lake covers are beautiful!
Enjoy your week!

I’m glad you had a quiet 4th. Ours was relatively quiet. We normally get loud fireworks from July 1 to 7, but this year we only had them from the 1st to the 4th. Good luck with your indexing and your Tour de Fleece.

We had an unusually quiet 4th as well – usually tons of fireworks but thankfully next to none this year! I think because it’s SO HOT… maybe also a bit of people disillusioned with this country. I’m glad you’re enjoying your Tour de Fleece. Hope the indexing is going well and you’ve had a good week!

We had a lowkey fourth too though did set off some fireworks which my husband and his brother look forward to doing pretty much every year. I hope you’ve had a wonderful week!
