The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!

Sometimes I also participate in The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz, Stacking the Shelves hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality, and It’s Monday! What Are You Reading (#IMWAYR) hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date.
The Past Week
In real life: It has been an emotional and challenging week. We did take a little time to celebrate my birthday quietly, but I wasn’t feeling very celebratory. Robin got here Wednesday; they fly home tomorrow. On Friday, we had dinner with 5 of my cousins (and a few spouses and grown children), which was comforting. Halloween was busy, with zero trick-or-treaters but plenty of family on my stepmom’s side.
This afternoon we said goodbye to my father in a celebration of life service. It was a beautiful service, mostly music with a few prayers and reminiscences. I spent all day Saturday writing what I wanted to say, with a lot of editing help from Robin. (I love having a professional writer/editor in the family!) I know there are a lot more tears to shed, but the service was healing and left me with a sense of peace.
Mr. Bookwyrm and I will be here for several more days. I have a lot to do as I take over Dad’s trust and wind up his estate. (It will take months, probably a year or more, but there were things that need to be dealt with immediately.) We will head home on Friday to empty the house and get it ready for the new owners. Closing is a few days before Thanksgiving, and everything needs to be in storage or in suitcases by then.

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching

Finished Reading: Once Upon a Marigold by Jean Ferris, and both A Marriage of Undead Inconvenience and A Honeymoon of Grave Consequence by Stephanie Burgis.
Currently reading: I read all the Mary Russell stories in Mary Russell’s Ghost: and Other Stories of Suspense (Laurie R. King); I haven’t read any of the other stories in the book yet. I dipped into the first chapter of Out on a Limb (Hannah Bonam-Young), which seems fun, then went back to Behooved by M. Stevenson.
Listening to: Squire (Tamora Pierce) is on hold until we get home (or longer.) There has been no time for audiobooks this week. Nor will there be in the coming week, unless I listen on the plane on the way home.
