Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The meme was originally the brainchild of The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Book Titles That Would Make Good Band Names.
I chose these from among the books I’ve read in the last few years. They aren’t in any particular order.
- Once a Rebel — either a bluegrass band, or an indie rock band
- Real Men Knit — indie pop solo artist
- Face the Fire — traditional Irish and Scottish music with rock influences (along the lines of Silly Wizard or Steeleye Span)
- Tribute — a classic rock cover band
- The Vanishing — avant garde classical ensemble
- Shadow Spell — New Age music
- Dark Witch — Celtic music with a female lead singer
- The Harp of Kings — traditional Irish music, including harp
- Code Girls — indie-pop girl band
- High Stakes — country back-up band, or a ’60s psychedelic band
Bonus titles (books I read longer ago) that would also make good band names:
Is there a book title you think would make a great name for a band? Please share it (or them) in the comments below!
Lydia
Code Girls is a great band name.

It’s not my favorite band description in this post (Face the Fire gets that honor, because I really miss Silly Wizard and Steeleye Span.) But Code Girls is probably my favorite of these band names.

Tribute is a perfect cover band name! And now I want to listen to music by Code Girls. I find it amusing how so many fantasy-novels-as-band-names end up having a Celtic feel to them. 🙂

I really want Face the Fire to exist, and also Code Girls and maybe Dark Witch.
Louise @ Foxes and Fairy Tales
Love the sound of Once a Rebel for a band!
Lark_Bookwyrm
I rather like that one, too!
Lark
Once a Rebel is my favorite, with Code Girls a close second. But they’re all fun. 🙂

That’s one of my favorite “band names” on this list. 🙂

I can totally see an indie singer-songwriter with the name Real Men Knit. Fantastic! I love Code Girls for girl group too.
Greg
Ooh I like these. Face the Fire is nice especially. The Vanishing and dark Witch are great as well, I love band names that make you kinda wonder or seem mysterious.

This was a fun, rather silly assignment. Good choices here.

I think we need a little silliness here and there — something light to lift our spirits for a little while.

I’m loving Once a Rebel. What a great name for a band!

Ooh, I’m nabbing Shadow Spell for my horse name list. What a great title.

It’s part of a trilogy I love — the Cousins O’Dwyer trilogy by Nora Roberts. Fantasy/paranormal romance.

I absolutely love the idea of a cover band being called Tribute! Once a Rebel would also be a fantastic band name.
