The Sunday Post is hosted by the wonderful Kimberly, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, take a look ahead, and showcase our new treasures—I mean books!
This Week
Finally turned my index project in. The next one arrived Thursday, so I really didn’t get much break between the two. And this new one is going to be tough.
Today is the last day of Tour de Fleece. Our guild team is celebrating with a sit-and-spin in the studio space this afternoon. I’m pretty pleased with how I did, even though there were several days this week that I didn’t have time to spin. I’ll show you my progress on Wednesday.

What I’ve Been Reading/Watching
Reading: I finished buddy-reading The Secret of Bow Lane (Jennifer Ashley; ARC) with Sophia Rose of Books of My Heart. Currently, I am buddy-reading The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna (ARC), with Lenore of Celebrity Readers.
I also did some more rereading this week, bingeing my way through a series of fairy-tale retellings by Dennis McKiernan: Once Upon a Winter’s Night, Once Upon a Summer’s Day, Once Upon an Autumn’s Eve, Once Upon a Spring Morn, and currently Once Upon a Dreadful Time.
Listening to: A Prayer for the Crown-Shy by Becky Chambers.
Watching: Robin and their friend Owl recommended The Dragon Prince to me a few years ago, and I finally got around to starting it. So far, I like it very much. We’re also watching the new Mad About You, since we loved it back in the day. To be honest, I’m not enjoying this sequel as much.
Added to the Hoard this week

Anne - Books of My Heart
Work is keeping you busy. It’s too hot to do much else but spinning would be fine. I finally am getting back into knitting and hopefully my sewing / quilting soon. I loved the Jennifer Ashley book.

Spinning is fine as long as the room isnt’ too warm! But I won’t be taking my wheel outside for a bit. 🙂 I’m glad you’re getting back into knitting, and I would love to see the results of your quilting and sewing when you start that back up.
I loved The Secret of Bow Lane, too. It answered some questions about Kat’s and Daniel’s respective backgrounds that I’ve been wondering about for a while, while still leaving room for change, growth, and more adventures.

Your books look so good. I want to read The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna. It sounds good.
Hope you have a great week!

I couldn’t resist the description of The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches! I’ve barely started, so I don’t have an opinion on it yet, but I think it’s going to be fun. Have a great week, and thanks for stopping by!

Thomas; books look good to me. Her and Huber- I’ve been wanting to try both of them lately. And McKiernan’s stuff- wow, it’s been a while! I’m looking forward to reading more Chambers soon as well.
Take care and be well this week!

I’m way behind on Thomas’s Lady Sherlock series; I need to catch up. I’ve got a bunch of the books in the middle of Huber’s series to read or listen to. And McKiernan – yes, I hadn’t reread these since 2017. My favorite is still the first in the series. I’m really enjoying the second Monk & Robot book by Chambers; I listened to it in the car today.
Greg
Huber I think is one of the authors I really want to try…

Well, the sit-and-spin ended up being just me, because several people couldn’t come at the last minute! But I had a nice time spinning and listening to Becky Chambers’s new Monk & Robot novella. I’m looking forward to a good week of indexing, a visit to a friend who just had surgery, and finishing up my Tour de Fleece projects. And reading, of course! I wish you a wonderful week as well.

Sounds like work is very busy. I see many raves for Becky Chambers but have never read anything by her. Hope you are enjoying the audio. I had no idea there was a new Mad About You. I used to love the old show.

Dennis McKiernan’s work looks like some fun retellings but I haven’t read any yet. Should they be read in order, or can I jump around?
I had forgotten that the Tour de Fleece didn’t end on the last day of July. Oh well. It’s not like I was competing for anything with any teams, so I don’t have to follow any of the rules. 😉
