Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The meme was originally the brainchild of The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books With the Word “___” In the Title.

Favorite Books with “Dragon” in the Title (and dragons in the book!)

I already posted a Top Ten Tuesday list for this week, because I missed it last week and I didn’t want to skip it. But I was excited for this prompt, too, and had already picked out my word and most of my titles. So you’re getting a bonus TTT post from me this week, a day late. The books have dragons in the title, and dragons in the book, because there’s nothing so annoying to a dragon lover as expecting dragons and not actually getting them.

  • His Majesty’s Dragon (Naomi Novik; Temeraire series)*
  • Dragonsong (Anne McCaffrey; Harper Hall trilogy)
  • The White Dragon (Anne McCaffrey; Dragonriders of Pern series)*
  • Dealing with Dragons (Patricia Wrede; Enchanted Forest Chronicles)
  • The Dragon with the Chocolate Heart (Stephanie Burgis; Tales of the Chocolate Heart)*
  • The Tea Dragon Society (written and illus. by K. O’Neill; Tea Dragon Society trilogy)
  • Nice Dragons Finish Last (Rachel Aaron; Heartstriker series)*
  • The Last Dragonslayer (Jasper Fforde; The Last Dragonslayer series)*
  • A Natural History of Dragons (Marie Brennan; Lady Trent series)
  • The Reluctant Dragon (Kenneth Grahame; this edition illus. by Michael Hague)
  • Merlin and the Dragons (Jane Yolen, illus. by Li Ming)*

* Links go to my review or mini-review of the book or series.
